Mechanical/Hydraulics Technician
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical/Hydraulics Technician to work in our client's busy workshop, based in Rockhampton Qld.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the installation, maintenance, and repairs of hydraulic components on Trucks and Plant Machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hydraulic installations, including PTOs, pumps, cylinders, hoists, power packs, wet kits, and valving Hydraulic repairs, including hoses and cylinder resealing Installations, repairs, and services of truck-mounted cranes and tailgate loaders Electrical work, including wiring up cranes, tailgate loaders, and power packs Fault finding and annual servicing of cranes and tailgate loaders Auto electrical knowledge Reading of hydraulic schematics Undertaking hydraulic maintenance tasks during shut-down periods Replacement of hydraulic components, pipework installations, inspections, and testing of equipment Troubleshooting hydraulic issues on fixed plant assets Assisting in the execution, installation, and commissioning of bespoke projects Ensuring high-level safe work practices at site
Responsibilities:
* Installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems Reading blueprints and diagrams while troubleshooting and diagnosing problems Performing preventative maintenance to avoid operational failures of hydraulic systems Welding, metal fabrication, and electrical assembly Providing drawing review and suggestions related to part inspection and testing Using computers and other technologies to investigate and repair hydraulic equipment Reassembling machines and equipment Reading dials and meters to determine amperage, voltage, electrical output, and input at specific operating temperature Analyzing parts performance Operating drill press, grinders, engine lathe, or other machines to modify parts tested or fabricate experimental parts for testing
About the Role:
This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum, plus superannuation. The role involves working in person and requires the successful candidate to have industry experience as a Mechanical/Hydraulics Technician.
