An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Social Work Department, providing specialist services across Maternity and Paediatrics at the Hervey Bay Hospital. In this role, you will deliver high-level clinical social work services to women, infants, children and families, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support safe, high-quality, family-centred care.
Your Opportunity:
* The purpose of the role is to provide an advanced level of general practitioner service to all eligible clients with a significant role in mentoring and teaching. Lead and coordinate oral health services.
Temporary Part Time (67 hours p.f.), from date of appointment until 18th September 2026
What we're looking for:
Technical Capability
* Experience in the provision of all aspects of general practitioner oral health services including comprehensive knowledge of Infection Prevention practices with proven skills and experience in one or more specific areas of Oral Health
Patient Client Focus
* Experience in the provision of high quality patient oral health care on a personal and population basis. Ability to understand and respond to patient needs. Ability to manage client complaints and expectations.
Problem Solving
* Ability to innovatively analyse, identify and resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
Communication and Interpersonal skills
* High level written and oral communication skills to enable effective interaction with individuals and groups. Well developed negotiation skills.
Teamwork
* Proven ability to be able to work in a team and to participate as a member of an oral health team and a multidisciplinary health team.
Organisational Commitment and Awareness
* Proven skills in team leadership and coordination, communication and interpersonal relations.
* Ability to attain knowledge of contemporary human resource management, with particular reference to workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Mandatory possession of Bachelor of Dental Science or the equivalent and eligibility for registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
