The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia / Northern Territory (RFDS SA/NT) is a trusted leader in providing aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
About the Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager - People, Culture and Environment, the Payroll Services Manager is responsible for the management of payroll services across the organisation and plays a key role in the implementation of multiple critical projects and systems.
Specifically, you will:
* Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for 550+ employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a great employee experience.
* Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
* Lead statutory reporting (STP, FBT, PAYG, EOFY, superannuation) and partner closely with Finance.
* Play a key role in the implementation of a new Time & Attendance and Rostering system, and support the rollout of our new Human Capital Management System (HCMS).
* Drive process improvements, automation, and payroll governance.
* Build strong relationships across P&C, Finance, and operational teams while leading and developing the payroll team.
About You
We're looking for a strategic and hands-on leader with:
* Significant experience managing end-to-end payroll in a complex, multi-site environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance frameworks.
* Proven experience with Chris21/iChris and exposure to payroll or HRIS system implementations.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and attention to detail.
* A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable: Experience with rostering or time & attendance systems, payroll/HCMS transformation projects, and relevant tertiary or payroll qualifications.
