Opportunity
We are seeking an Estimator to join our High Voltage Field Service team based in Hexham. As a key member of our HV Electrical Field Service team you will be integral in keeping pulse on the industry and providing solutions to ensure we remain competitive in all areas of electrical field services tenders and project solutions. You could be an experienced engineer or technician looking to transition into estimating and project management. This role will report directly to the HV Estimating & Planning Team Lead as well as collaborating with our HV Manager and our Testing & Transformer Services Manager.
What are we looking for from you?
* Electrical trade or Engineering qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role or relevant skills
* Experience with and/or knowledge of HV/LV electrical plant, equipment and systems
* A customer-oriented approach with strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skill
* Experience in electrical estimating and the preparation of tenders – advantageous
* Advanced computer skills in MS Word and Excel
* Advanced organisation and time management skill
* Project management qualifications – advantageous
Key Responsibilities
You will prepare budgets and tenders, liaise with customers, assist with pre‐engineering, perform and coordinate sales follow‐ups and participate in progress reviews. The types of tenders and quotes will include HV/LV maintenance, overhaul and upgrade projects, replacement (both like for like and project style), as well as schedule of rates and budget estimates. Key challenges will be developing your customer relationships to drive tender/estimate success rates and developing strong client relationships; as well as maintaining high quality and accuracy of tenders whilst ensuring compliance to budgets, contracts, standards and legislation.
