Gorenang Moortabiin Aboriginal Corporation (GMAC) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation working across the Great Southern region to strengthen cultural identity, social and emotional wellbeing, governance, education, training, arts and community development.

We deliver programs for children, young people, adults and families, and work closely with Aboriginal communities, partner organisations and government to deliver outcomes that are culturally strong, locally led and community driven.

About the Role


GMAC is seeking a motivated and reliable Certificate II in Business Trainee to join our growing team. This is a full-time traineeship combining paid employment with the completion of a Certificate II in Business.

The trainee will gain hands-on experience in administration and business operations while being supported through structured training, mentoring and on-the-job learning within a busy Aboriginal community organisation.


Key Duties

* General office administration and reception support
* Answering phones and welcoming visitors in a professional and respectful manner
* Data entry, filing and maintaining accurate records
* Assisting with correspondence, bookings and reporting
* Supporting staff with program and operational tasks
* Using office equipment and basic computer systems

* Communicate respectfully and maintain cultural safety in all interactions
* Follow directions from Elders, cultural leaders and senior staff where cultural guidance is provided
* Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of community members, families and staff
* Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, particularly when working with children, young people and families
* Represent GMAC positively during work hours and when attending community activities or events
* Understand that working at GMAC is a position of trust within community

GMAC has zero tolerance for discrimination, bullying, harassment, misuse of position or behaviour that causes harm to individuals, families or community.

All staff and trainees must comply with GMAC policies and procedures and participate in cultural induction and ongoing workplace training.


About You


We are looking for someone who:

* Is committed to completing a Certificate II in Business
* Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn
* Has a positive attitude and takes direction well
* Can work respectfully within a team and with community
* Has basic computer skills or a willingness to develop them
* Is community-minded and understands the importance of confidentiality

Eligibility & Requirements
