The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for delivering the Aviation Meteorological Services (AMS) portfolio, which provides the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region.
The Bureau's Aviation service provides aviation users with meteorological information necessary for safe and efficient civil aviation operations. The service includes the provision of observations, forecasts, warnings and advisories, and is provided within the technical and regulatory framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
We are seeking a capable and motivated technical project manager with knowledge on delivering new products, upgrading existing systems, and providing service support management. The product and service offerings may be multi-disciplined and will involve working with colleagues across several Programs of the Bureau including managing technical input from areas such as information systems and services, research and operational forecasting.
This position would suit an applicant with outstanding communication skills, who has a high degree of initiative and ability to self-manage. Experience establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders and project team members, employing a consultative and influencing approach is essential. To be successful, you will be experienced in end-to end management, project financial management and project and process establishment. PMO or change management experience will be looked on favourably.
