What's the role?
The Senior Manager – FnL is responsible for driving product strategy and delivery across News Corp Australia's lifestyle brands, including Taste, Australian Best Recipes, Escape, and Body + Soul. This role focuses on initiatives that grow audience engagement, increase revenue, and strengthen brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Product Strategy & Roadmap: Drive the strategic vision and roadmap for FnL lifestyle brands, ensuring initiatives align with audience growth, engagement, and revenue objectives.
* Quarterly Planning & Delivery: Drive the ideation, planning, and briefing of quarterly product roadmaps (Q26), creating detailed product briefs, prioritising initiatives based on performance insights, commercial drivers, and market trends.
* Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse audience behaviour, commercial performance, competitor activity, and broader market trends to inform product recommendations and optimisation opportunities.
* Collaboration with Technical Product Teams: Partner closely with TDD Product Managers to define requirements, guide UX and design considerations, and ensure smooth delivery of product initiatives.
* Editorial Partnership: Work with editorial teams to ensure product developments support content strategy, improve storytelling, and enhance the user experience.
* Commercial Integration: Collaborate with commercial teams to maximise revenue opportunities, integrate commercial objectives into product planning, and measure outcomes.
* Marketing Alignment: Coordinate with marketing teams to ensure product initiatives support campaigns, audience acquisition, and engagement strategies.
* Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to enhance existing products, develop new offerings, and introduce innovative solutions that strengthen brand position and audience engagement.
Who are you?
* Proven Product Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing digital products, ideally in media, publishing, with a strong track record of delivering audience growth and revenue impact.
* Audience-Centric Mindset: Deep understanding of user behaviour, engagement metrics, content consumption patterns, and how to translate insights into practical product solutions.
* Commercial Acumen: Ability to balance audience and revenue objectives, identifying opportunities to integrate commercial strategies into product initiatives without compromising user experience.
* Strategic Thinking & Roadmapping: Skilled at creating clear, actionable product roadmaps informed by performance data, market trends, competitor analysis, and organisational priorities.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working closely with editorial, commercial, marketing, and technical teams, translating complex requirements into actionable plans while maintaining stakeholder alignment.
* Technical Awareness: Comfortable partnering with technical product teams to understand UX, design, architecture, and delivery considerations, and translating these into practical product requirements.
* Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets, generate insights, and make informed product recommendations.
* Innovation & Problem Solving: A proactive approach to identifying gaps and opportunities, with the ability to design innovative product solutions that strengthen brand positioning and enhance audience engagement.
* Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and clearly articulating product vision, priorities, and outcomes.
* Project Management & Execution: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, and measurable impact.
