About the Role
We're looking for a high-performing, results-oriented Commercial Business Development Manager to lead new business development across WA, focusing on the industrial, transport, mining, agriculture, and farming sectors.
This full-time position plays a key role in expanding Penrite's commercial footprint in a strategically important market. You'll be responsible for identifying new commercial opportunities, managing end-to-end sales processes, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver seamless customer experiences from onboarding to long-term retention.
This role offers strong autonomy, high visibility, and the opportunity to directly influence Penrite's continued success in WA. Some overnight travel and attendance at trade shows or weekend events may be required.
Responsibilities
* Prospect, identify, and convert new commercial customers across key industries
* Lead tenders, proposals, and pricing strategies to secure new business
* Work with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery
* Use data and insights to guide territory growth strategies
* Coach and support the broader sales team in commercial knowledge and processes
* Drive customer retention and build strong, long-term relationships
* Submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to senior leadership
* Represent Penrite at industry events and trade shows as required
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a commercial BDM or senior sales role
* Proven track record of acquiring and retaining commercial customers
* Strong background in the oil, lubricant, or automotive industry (essential)
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation, tendering, and closing skills
* Self-motivated and proactive, with a solutions-focused mindset
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Proficiency in CRM systems and data reporting
* Legal right to work in Australia
