The role
Job Overview
We're looking for an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner or a registered nurse to take on a Transitional Nurse Practitioner (TNP) role in the Drug and Alcohol Service (D&A Service). The NP is an authorised advanced practice nurse who will deliver autonomous and collaborative clinical care within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. The role is permanent full time, based in Nowra.
Salary: $139,661.16 – $149,538.56 per annum + 11.5% super & salary packaging. Incentives: Rural Health Workforce Incentives Scheme offers up to $5,000.
Responsibilities
The NP will provide focused assessment and management of clients, using advanced nursing knowledge. Key responsibilities include:
- Ordering diagnostic investigations and prescribing medication.
- Direct referral to other health professionals.
- Developing and implementing client care plans in line with service guidelines.
- Providing leadership to facilitate clinical practice development and education.
- Collaborating with nursing and medical leaders to maintain high standards of care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Current AHPRA Nurse Practitioner registration.
- Master's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification; or progressing towards one.
- Postgraduate qualifications in drug and alcohol nursing or extensive experience in drug and alcohol services.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Valid NSW Driver's licence.
- Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
