About the Position
We are seeking a seasoned Governance professional to join our General Counsel and Risk Department, ideally based in Sydney.
The ideal candidate will oversee responses to claims and complaints, manage business acceptance processes including conflicts clearance, and lead a team of 5. One of their first priorities would be overseeing our response to forthcoming legislation related to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing.
They will also provide training for staff on risk issues and offer advice on contractual arrangements.
About You
This role would suit someone with experience as a conflicts lawyer or within a law firm's Office of General Counsel, or a senior professional with relevant corporate, commercial, litigation and/or compliance or company secretarial experience who has worked in a professional services environment and possesses excellent research and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, an ability to anticipate risks and develop solutions, and a high level of attention to detail will be crucial to success in this role.
A dedicated team of 5 will report to them, so strong leadership and mentorship skills are essential.
