Our Apprenticeship & Traineeship program provides trainees with on-the-job training and real-world experience to kick-start your career within a large and diverse workforce. The program includes training in communication, negotiation, resilience, career management, leadership and mental health and wellbeing.
We employ a diverse range of apprentices & trainees across Logan interested in gaining experience from a variety of industries such as Plant Fleet Services, Logan Water, IT, Finance, Road Construction and Events Management just to name a few.

Minimum eligibility requirements
To be eligible for our apprenticeship or traineeship placement you must be at least 15 years old and have finished a minimum of year 10 education and previously not completed the Traineeship qualifications on offer. You must also have working rights in Australia to be employed at Council.

The opportunity to submit your application will close 5pm AEST on Sunday 12th October 2025. Due to a high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted, and all submitted applications will remain on file for up to 12 month duration.

Next steps
Once the advertisement has closed, we will start the shortlisting process to select candidates to invite to face to face interviews.
During interviews we will ask you a set of questions that relate to your reason for applying, what your motivations and ambitions are, if you have any prior experience and how you would see yourself succeeding.
Once the interview process has been finalised, we will then commence the background checking phase. Please note that parental consent may be required for underage applicants prior to Council progressing any further. The checks we conduct involves us using approved secured services of third-party agencies to perform position specific checks. This may involve checks such as working rights, police, immunisation history, functional capacity evaluations, blue card, drivers' licence, government funding eligibility etc.
