About the business and role
Plascare is a family owned and operated business and has been in operation for over 35 years. We are a national distributor for Sharpsafe disposable sharps containers and VEXO bird deterrent solutions.
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and versatile team member to join us on a casual basis (approx. 2 days a week). This is a varied role perfect for someone who enjoys physical work but is also happy to jump in and assist our sales and marketing team with general duties. We are seeking a candidate with strong team ethic, who will work with existing staff on making improvements in the warehouse area, to maximize efficiency and help maintain a safe work area. No weekend work.
To be successful in this role, you need to have worked in a role within a stores/warehousing environment, able to work independently with strong attention to detail and deliver customer service as needed.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
Warehouse Duties:
* Hand unloading 20ft and 40ft containers (Must be physically fit).
* Process, pick and pack orders for dispatch.
* Booking daily freight pick-ups and liaise with couriers
* Receiving incoming goods and checking against manifests.
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
* Building and assembling stock items.
* Regular stock cycle counts to manage inventory and stock control.
* Freight and inventory analysis
* Safe workplace practices
* Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse
Sales & Marketing Support:
* Assisting the team with ad-hoc administrative tasks.
* Preparing product samples or marketing materials for mail-outs.
* General support to ensure the office runs efficiently.
The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with a "can-do" attitude who isn't afraid of hard work but also has the professional manner required to work alongside our sales team.
* Physically Fit: You must be capable of lifting heavy objects (15–25kg) and comfortable hand-unloading shipping containers.
* Reliable & Flexible: Available for 2 days a week (specific days can be discussed).
* Tech Savvy: Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Xero) are required to assist the marketing team.
* Proactive & resourceful : You see what needs to be done and problem solves independently
* Experience: Previous warehousing experience is preferred, and a forklift license is a bonus (but not essential).
* Conscientious and attentive to detail
* Requirements: Current driver's license and own transport.
