HumeLink West ProjectTwo CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors, have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130 km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.HumeLink is a new 500 kV transmission project connecting Wagga Wagga, Maragle, and Bannaby in regional NSW, significantly increasing the capacity of Australia's eastern states electricity network.
It is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with approximately 365 km of proposed new transmission lines and various other new and upgraded infrastructure.The HumeLink West scope, valued at $1.4 billion, includes the delivery of new 500 kV double circuit transmission lines spanning approximately 140 km from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new substation at Guga, the interface point with HumeLink East near Gundagai, and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future Snowy 2.0 connection.The OpportunityWe are currently recruiting for a Safety Advisor for the HumeLink project.
This is a site-based position in Wagga Wagga, with DIDO, FIFO, or relocation options available.Key AccountabilitiesProvide advice and support to the onsite teamImplement and ensure compliance with the health and safety management planConduct and lead investigationsMaintain and report safety performance statisticsReview incident reports for investigation and recommended actionsStay current with leading HSE practices, legislation, regulations, and bring innovative ideas to UGLAssist leadership and workers in risk identification and hazard analysisMonitor and mentor safety compliance through assurance activities, inspections, and observationsQualifications and ExperienceMinimum 5+ years in a similar role within industrial/construction environmentsDegree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalentLead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 (desirable)ICAM Lead InvestigatorCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)About YouThe successful candidate must hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and pass a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing, prior to commencement.
