At Zip, we are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Commercial to join our South Australian team. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on building and growing strong tier-one plumber and merchant relationships while driving commercial project and direct maintenance sales across the region.
You will also play a key leadership role by overseeing and mentoring the SA Area Sales Manager (ASM), helping to lift capability and performance across the state.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-driven sales, understands the commercial plumbing space and thrives on achieving strong sales and margin outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Relationship & Sales Growth
* Manage and grow tier-one plumber relationships and associated merchant partnerships
* Drive sales growth across commercial project and direct maintenance opportunities
* Grow direct business through "supply and install" opportunities and securing Hydrocare agreements
* Develop and implement Business Development Plans (BDPs) for your top 10 major plumbers
* Meet or exceed sales and margin budgets for South Australia
Call Cycles & Market Engagement
* Maintain a strong and consistent sales call cycle, with the majority of activity conducted face-to-face and recorded in Oneforce.
* Build strong call cycles with plumbers, merchants, contractors and project stakeholders
* Conduct product training sessions and ensure Zip literature is current within your customer base
Project & Industry Management
* Manage assigned projects within the SA commercial project pipeline
* Monitor and report on competitor activity
* Stay up to date with industry trends, Zip technical bulletins and opposition material
* Maintain strong product knowledge across Zip and competitor ranges
Leadership & Collaboration
* Oversee and mentor the SA Area Sales Manager (ASM)
* Utilise the Zip Technical Training Team to support customer education and product awareness
* Attend and actively contribute to weekly Specification Project Meetings
Administration & Reporting
* Update project information via Oneforce or directly with the Projects Administrator
* Track and manage projects using BCI and Property Daily reports
* Provide daily phone updates to the Regional Sales Manager – South
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
* Proven experience in business development or sales within the commercial plumbing, construction or building services sector
* Strong relationship-building skills with plumbers, merchants and project stakeholders
* Commercially astute with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales and margin targets
* Comfortable managing call cycles, pipelines and CRM systems
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Confident communicator who enjoys mentoring and supporting others
