The Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks (GBR&MP) Region offers an incredible opportunity for an OO5 Ranger (Assets) to join the team on a permanent basis.

As one of the six regions of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the GBR&MP Region delivers conservation and management activities across land and sea, including implementing the Reef Joint Field Management Program in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. The Region also oversees the state's southern marine parks - Great Sandy Marine Park and Moreton Bay Marine Park.

Marine Park Rangers help care for and protect marine parks on land and sea. They undertake activities such as environmental monitoring, public engagement, on-water compliance patrols, and maintaining facilities like camping areas and toilets. They also work closely with Traditional Owners to respect and maintain cultural values.

This role's primary responsibility is to oversee the planning and management of diverse infrastructure projects across land and sea, including campgrounds, walking trails, lookouts, signage, staging areas, and accommodation facilities.

Role Focus

1. Supervise work teams to deliver projects and contribute to annual planning, resource allocation, and budget management for infrastructure and recreational maintenance.
2. Plan and execute projects involving park infrastructure, natural and cultural resource management, fire, weed, and pest control, while operating and maintaining equipment.
3. Handle compliance, enforcement, customer service, and stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with Indigenous communities and government agencies.
4. Coordinate emergency response procedures and maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative tasks, including procurement and HR support.

Qualifications Needed

* An automatic/unrestricted manual driver's license.

A Coxswain NSCV1 license is highly desirable for Marine Ranger roles but not mandatory.
