A well-established, globally connected organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join the team on a confidential basis. With operations across Australia and international locations, this organisation places a strong emphasis on compliance, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality payroll services to its workforce. Due to internal change and upcoming project requirements, a skilled professional is needed to lead payroll operations and support strategic payroll initiatives. This is a temporary role for 4 months with the potential to become permanent. Your new role
As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee end‑to‑end payroll operations across multiple regions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. You will manage payroll systems, oversee vendor relationships, manage a small payroll team, and support both short‑term and strategic payroll projects. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles across Australia and international regions
* Leading payroll governance, compliance, and audit processes
* Driving system enhancements, upgrades, and interface improvements
* Overseeing data integrity, reporting, and payroll controls
* Leading annual remuneration cycles and payroll-related regulatory submissions
* Collaborating with Finance, HR, and external vendors
* Managing and developing payroll team members
* Supporting strategic payroll initiatives and global system change projects

* Significant experience managing payroll operations in a medium to large organisation
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance frameworks, and payroll accounting principles

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across culturally diverse teams
* High level of attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality
