What will your typical day look like?
The Project Manager (PM) position exists to support the project team and Partners and Directors in achieving Deloitte's objectives of delivering successful projects, from inception through construction delivery to completion of the end product within the agreed timeframes and budget. As the client's representative, the PM is responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of the project, to ensure compliance with programs and cost budgets as approved by the client. At Deloitte, there is also opportunity for PMs to be involved in development management, focusing on the front-end. This can involve:
Establish a master program and detail programs for each stage, as a tool for the project management team to monitor, control and report on compliance by all parties with programs as approved by the client
Upon completion of a project, oversee commissioning, practical completion, defects list, end of project report
Work with client to establish a design brief and develop a design program to meet requirements
Coordinate with consultants to analyse design as it evolves against buildability and budget requirements
Assist in the design and coordination of the delivery of mock-up rooms and display suites if required
Assist the Project Leader in negotiation of consultant fees, commercial terms and conditions and appointment of consultants
Provide assistance to clients and their specialist consultants employed directly including auditors, legal advisors, PR consultants, sales agents and managing agents
Represent the client in meetings that require coordination of works including meetings with consultants, construction manager/builder, sub-contractors and suppliers
Negotiate with authorities to ensure compliance
Ensure all that accounting procedures and costs controls are established to cover all stages of the project
Identify risks, analyse and respond to any issue that may arise in relation to meeting budget
Throughout all phases, work to forecasts and budgets; monitor, analyse and forecast cash flows, action and settle accounts and rigorously enforce cost management procedures
Develop the Delivery Strategy into the Invitation to Tender, and manage through tender process to a recommendation to the Project Leader as to the preferred contractor
About the team
The Infrastructure & Project Solutions team are focused on advising on some of the largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects and programs, as well as complex government services contracts. Our work spans the infrastructure lifecycle from policy and strategy development, to preparation of compelling, complex business cases through to designing and managing procurement processes to close transactions. We work across a range of sectors including transport, social infrastructure such as education, sports & recreation, as well as power and utilities infrastructure and precincts & urban renewal.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
Demonstrated behaviour that is aligned with Deloitte values
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. property, valuation, real estate, project management, construction and or other property discipline)
Proven industry experience in the property industry required, preferably working as a project manager
Demonstrated knowledge of the property delivery process including an understanding of project management controls
Strong understanding of the property development process, including project design, authority liaison, town planning, project marketing, project financing, project construction and delivery, and the contractual and settlement process
Demonstrated experience of preparation and management of realistic activity programming, prioritising and ensuring reliable delivery
Demonstrated experience using feasibility methods/models, undertaking financial analysis including analysing risks and returns and presentation of findings
Use and understanding of Estate Master (or similar feasibility preparation software) to prepare financial feasibility models highly regarded
High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Confident of own opinion and prepared to back their own judgment, being prepared to argue their position in an appropriate forum
