Role
The facilities manager has the responsibility to ensure that all building assets, including gardens and their contents are presented in in a manner that is aesthetically pleasing, functional and safe for all who attend Albert Park College. He/she leads the maintenance team and all associated contractors. He/she is positive in approach, a team player and solution focussed. Duties range from day to day inspections, overseeing all works to the development of efficient computer based systems to track work flow and safety items. The facilities manager reports directly to the College Principal who has ultimate responsibility for all facilities matters. Normal work hours are 38 hours per week between the hours of 8am and ;
Responsibilities
1. Report directly to the College Principal in a regular and timely manner.Member of the OHS committee and directly responsible for documenting OHS matters related to the buildings, grounds and the building contents and ensuring all DET requirements are met
2. Directly responsible for all cleaning and cleaning contractors entering the buildings and liaise with cleaning contractor re daily and annual works.
3. Directly responsible for all contract works and for ensuring that they operate in line with DET safety standards.
4. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all facilities.
5. Supervise the maintenance of school gardens and grounds.
6. Source supplies, raise purchase orders and maintain relevant records.
7. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all furniture at the college.
8. Responsible for all facilities documentation and ensuring that it is publically displayed on the college portal.
9. Supervise maintenance staff to ensure all works are completed.
10. Being proactive in identifying maintenance issues and manage and prioritise the maintenance register for all College sites. Attend to issues in a practical, timely and cost effective manner to ensure repairs meet statutory requirements.
11. Managing the work flow of maintenance required at the college.
12. Maintain a current and up to date knowledge of the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems of Albert Park College sites, ensure operational manuals are current and arrange service on equipment.
13. Arrange mandatory and essential inspections and regular servicing of equipment, liaising with contractors to carry out works at suitable times, eg school vacation, curriculum days.
14. Overseeing the physical setup of all events at the college.Co-ordinate the Events Team to bump in/out of special events for example, Vaudeville, Information Nights, Productions, Examinations, Trivia Night, Art Show.
15. Work with the Principal team to assist with new projects and source quotes.
16. Other duties as requested by the Business Manager or Principal.

Location Profile
Albert Park College Profile:
Albert Park College opened in 2011 with a year 7 enrolment capped at 150 students and the new college has been developed as a Year 7-12 college. The College is multi campus and located in a prized inner city location. Incorporating recycled materials, indigenous flora, and natural light and ventilation, our buildings and grounds reflect our communities belief in environmental sustainability.
The new buildings feature a 21st century learning environment with open plan classrooms. All staff will be expected to teach in teams in the open plan environment.
As a designated Apple Mac school all staff will be expected to be familiar with the use of Apple computers / devices as an integral part of their teaching and learning.
The school offers two streams: general co-educational entry, and a Select Entry Accelerated Learning program that offers places to up to 50 students based on an entrance test and interview.
There are three key themes driving the culture of the new college - a celebration of arts and culture, scientific and mathematical exploration and the development of outstanding leadership capabilities.
The school also offers an Accelerated Arts program and is developing an excellent music program with a stage band, concert band and ensembles.
