Jurien Bay Oceanic Experience is the premier provider of tours in the Jurien Bay Marine Park. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences while fostering a deeper appreciation for marine conservation and education.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Sea Lion Tour Guide and Rock Lobster Deckhand for the peak season (November - May)
Responsibilities
* Conduct and guide engaging and informative in-water and on deck marine tours, showcasing the beauty and diversity of the marine environment.
* Operate and guide Rock Lobster Catch and Keep Tours (pot pulling, heavy lifting).
* Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring their safety and enjoyment throughout the tour.
* Assist in the maintenance and presentation of the vessels and equipment to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
* Contribute to the overall success of the operation, ensuring guests have a memorable and educational experience throughout its entirety.
* Ensure the safety of guests by strictly adhering to safety and marine park protocols.
* Demonstrate a strong knowledge of marine life and conservation principles.
* Swim and interact with Australian sea lions
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience in marine tourism or a related field.
* Demonstrated vessel and rope skills knowledge, ability to lift heavy.
* Passion for customer service and the ocean.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
* Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
* Further marine and/dive qualifications and experience
* Marine Biology degree
* Hospitality experience
