Our client is a well-established developer/builder with a strong pipeline of new commercial and retail projects commencing across Townsville. With multiple sites about to kick off, they are looking to appoint a hands-on Commercial Project Manager to lead delivery on the ground.
The Position
This is a site-based Commercial Project Manager role overseeing end-to-end delivery across upcoming commercial/retail developments. The business is specifically looking for someone who is on-site and hands-on.
You’ll work closely with architects, planning, trades, and stakeholders, taking ownership of programme, approvals, procurement, and delivery through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with architects and planning teams to ensure designs and working drawings are practical, efficient, and fit for purpose
* Developing and supporting project budgets and cost planning
* Assisting with Development Approvals (DA)
* Assisting with and obtaining Building Approvals / permits
* Programming works and coordinating trades
* Tendering, negotiating, and awarding trade packages
* Monitoring and driving construction progress to meet programme, quality, and commercial outcomes
* Liaising with key stakeholders (including tenants) and managing expectations
About You
* Proven experience delivering commercial/retail (or comparable) construction projects as a Project Manager
* Strong capability across approvals, procurement, programming, and trade coordination
* Commercially minded with solid budgeting and cost planning experience
* Confident stakeholder manager with client/tenant-facing experience
* On-site operator — hands-on, practical, and delivery focused
