About Student Support Services
We provide psychological services to support children and young people with diverse needs, in partnership with schools and preschools.
Our multidisciplinary teams include psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, special educators, and other professionals who work collaboratively to deliver integrated and targeted support.
We are committed to culturally responsive practice, inclusive education, and supporting children and families across diverse communities—particularly in regional, remote, and Aboriginal contexts.
Role Descriptions
AHP1 – Provisional Psychologist
* Work under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist and/or an approved supervisor.
* Contribute to the delivery of high-quality psychological services to children and young people with diverse needs.
AHP2 – Psychologist
* Deliver targeted assessments and interventions to children and students with increasingly complex needs.
* Collaborate with families, school staff, and other professionals to implement proactive, targeted, and intensive interventions.
AHP2 – Psychologist (Flexible Services)
* Provide assessment and intervention through flexible delivery modes to improve access in underserved regions.
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support students and children remotely.
AHP3 – Psychologist (Self-Regulation Service)
* Support children and young people with self-regulation difficulties, often associated with trauma or other complex needs.
* Contribute to system-wide strategies to enhance self-regulation in preschools and schools.
AHP3 – Psychologist
* Provide expert psychological services and mentorship to other professionals.
* Lead in the development and delivery of advanced interventions.
Requirements
Essential qualifications include:
* An appropriate degree or equivalent which entitles registration (provisional) with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Current and full registration (general) with the Psychology Board of Australia for AHP2/3 roles.
Desirable qualifications include area of practice endorsement in educational and developmental psychology, clinical psychology, and/or counselling psychology for AHP3 roles.
