We're recruiting for Casual Funeral Assistants to support a well-established funeral team based in Hobart. This role is designed to provide hands-on operational support across funeral services, and family care during sensitive moments.
No days look the same. Some days are quiet, others move quickly. This role suits someone reliable, grounded, physically capable, and comfortable stepping into a professional environment where empathy and composure matter.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Supporting funeral services and day-of operations
* Assisting with transfers and logistics
* Helping with on-call and weekend support when required
* Providing respectful, family-facing support during services
* Working closely with the wider funeral team to assist where needed
* Maintaining presentation, professionalism, and care at all times
What The Role Looks Like:
* Casual role
* Hours flex based on business demand
* Weekend availability is essential
* Open to short-notice shifts and changing start/finish times
* On-call roster support required at times
What We're Looking For:
* Full driver's licence required
* Physically capable of manual handling duties
* Calm, empathetic, and able to multi-task
* Comfortable supporting grieving families
* Able to work independently and take initiative
* Flexible, reliable, and open to learning
* Comfortable taking direction within a structured team
