Job Description
The role of a First Nations Advocate is to ensure high-quality delivery of non-legal advocacy services to the indigenous community.
Advocates will work closely with mental health stakeholders to support individuals at risk of or on compulsory treatment orders.
This involves attending mental health services, providing information and education, and supporting consumers in exercising their rights.
Key objectives include promoting access to quality advocacy services, reducing barriers to healthcare, and fostering collaboration between service providers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* Strong understanding of issues affecting First Nations people and ability to champion their rights.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively and foster a supportive team environment.
* Sound knowledge of relevant policy and legal frameworks.
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly in a mental health context.
* Knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices.
* Ability to speak an Indigenous language.
