Boasting a strong network of over 800 offices nationally and a dynamic commercial environment, they are now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal functions across franchising, commercial contracts, governance, and risk.

Overview
What will it involve?
As Senior Legal Counsel for Australia, you will work closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders, with responsibilities including:
Franchise Compliance: overseeing franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers
Commercial Contracting: drafting, negotiating, and reviewing supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, leases, and more
Governance & Risk: advising on risk, privacy, and legislative changes; participating in internal committees as required
Board Reporting: preparing clear and concise legal updates for board and leadership review
External Counsel: managing relationships and instructions to external legal advisors
Leadership: guiding and supporting a Legal & Events Administrator

Ideal Experience
This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded, confident communicator with:
5+ years' PAE, ideally with heavy franchising exposure
Experience in franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing franchisee relationships
Strong commercial contracting experience, with the ability to balance legal risk against business needs
The confidence to work independently and interface with executives and cross-functional teams
A collaborative and practical approach, and the ability to work at pace in a large, evolving business
