This is a high‐impact Senior Payroll Officer role where you will take ownership of end‐to‐end payroll while working within a high‐performing, collaborative team. Reporting into the Payroll Manager, this Senior Payroll Officer will be responsible for the end‐to‐end processing of payroll across a large and complex workforce. On a weekly and fortnightly basis, you will manage payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and company policies. On a monthly basis, you will assist with reconciliations, reporting, and audit requirements. On a daily basis, you will manage payroll queries, maintain employee data, and support system enhancements within Micropay.
This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the business. You will play a key role in driving process improvements, maintaining compliance standards, and supporting system optimisation initiatives. Working closely with HR and Finance stakeholders, you will contribute to operational efficiency while enhancing payroll processes within a fast‐paced FMCG environment.
Responsibilities
* End‐to‐end payroll processing across multiple pay cycles for a large workforce
* Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, and company policies
* Maintain and update employee payroll records within Micropay
* Process payroll transactions including new starters, terminations, and adjustments
* Perform payroll reconciliations and support month‐end reporting processes
* Manage payroll queries and provide accurate, timely resolutions
* Support internal and external payroll audits ensuring data integrity
* Identify and implement process improvement initiatives across payroll
* Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure seamless payroll operations
* Assist the Payroll Manager with reporting and ad‐hoc project work
Candidate Profile
You are an experienced Payroll Officer with strong end‐to‐end payroll processing knowledge, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation. Experience with Micropay will be highly regarded. You have a strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements, and pride yourself on your attention to detail and accuracy.
You are a strong communicator who builds effective relationships with stakeholders across the business. Comfortable working in a fast‐paced environment, you are adaptable, proactive, and solutions‐focused. Your continuous improvement mindset and ability to manage competing priorities will set you up for success in this role.
