We are currently recruiting for experienced Production Horticulturalists who are highly motivated and enthusiastic to cultivate a large-scale vegetable cropping.Role DescriptionThe position involves propagating and cultivating or growing of plants in a production horticulture environment.
The work can be undertaken in either an indoor facility or shed, or outdoor farm setting, or both.ResponsibilitiesThe work involves a variety of activities involving plant nursery propagation, cultivation, irrigation and growing of vegetables, fruits, berries, nuts and other crops.Order seed, fertilizer and chemicalsSelect seeds based on weather and soil conditions and yieldPrepare growing media and suitable trays, pots and containersManage the propagation and planting operationMaintain suff icient stocks of plant foods and fertilizersUndertake transport and logistics for delivery of sales stockEnsure relevant equipment is maintainedMaintain valuable plant health and manage diseaseManage biosecurity risksImplement irrigation of cropsSample and interpret soil conditions and compostProvide advice on plant and seed varietiesMaintain soil, hydroponic, plant, treatment and yield recordsTo become part of the team you will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate on all levels.ConditionsThis is a full-time position with salary range $68,000-$78,000 determined by experience.If you meet the above criteria and want to use modern farm machinery, then we want to hear from you.Please note only successful candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview
