About the role

At Breville the research team is responsible for building deeper connections with consumers. With a focus on flexibility and adaptability, we tailor our approach to each project, whether qualitative or quantitative, ensuring we use the best method to uncover what matters most to our consumers.

Breville is looking for a Consumer Researcher to join our Global Product team based at our head office in Sydney. This position would suit someone with experience with design, UX, or market research methods and practices, preferably with a background in mixed-methods research. You'll be reporting directly to the Head of Research but day to day you'll be working with our cross functional project teams within the organisation.

Successful candidates will be comfortable leading research projects, including developing research plans, facilitating groups, interviews and useability studies, analysing finding and presenting results. You'll work across a number of challenges, from exploratory investigations of user needs and attitudes, to practical assessment of a product's desirability and usability.

Key responsibilities include:

* Lead End-to-End Consumer Research - Design, plan, and execute research initiatives that uncover deep insights about consumer needs, behaviours, pain points, and motivations.
* Utilize Mixed-Methods Approaches - Apply the right blend of qualitative and quantitative methods based on project goals and timelines. Synthesize data across methodologies and sources to satisfy the research objectives.
* Embed Consumer Understanding into Product Development - Collaborate closely with Category Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Test Kitchen Specialists to ensure research insights influence decisions throughout the product development process
* Translate Insights into Action - Turn complex research findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations for Category Managers and project teams.
* Drive Research Enablement - Support the growth of consumer-centric thinking across the business by mentoring teams on research principles and methods. Contribute to the development of research toolkits, templates, and best practice guides for internal use.
* Collaborate Across Global Teams - Engage with Global Product, Solutions and Go-To-Market teams to ensure insights are scaled and shared across markets.

We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Have:

* 5+ years of experience in UX, design, or market research, ideally in product development or consumer goods.
* Strong command of mixed-methods research (both qualitative and quantitative).
* Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct, and present research that impacts product decisions.
* Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent facilitation, communication, and storytelling skills.
* Proven experience mentoring or training others in research methods and practice.
* Familiarity with tools such as Dovetail, Figma, Miro, UserTesting, Qualtrics, or similar platforms.
