Chef About the Role: Mr L's Restaurant Bar is a vibrant and modern dining destination in South Yarra, Melbourne, offering a high-quality menu inspired by Mediterranean flavours.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to our continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Designing and preparing creative seasonal menus using fresh ingredients
• Overseeing food preparation and presentation to maintain high quality standards
• Managing kitchen operations including stock control, food costs, and supplier orders
• Leading and training kitchen staff, including junior chefs
• Ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
• Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
• Maintaining consistency in portion sizes, plating, and presentation Skills Experience Required:
• Qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III in commercial cookery, Certificate IV in commercial cookery and Diploma of Hospitality and management)
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef
• Strong technical cooking skills and menu development experience
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
