We are looking for a dedicated individual who is ready for the next stage in their Nursing and Leadership career utilising your extensive Orthopaedic and Neuro scrub scout experience. This pivotal operational role is ideal for a motivated nursing leader who thrives in a fast-paced theatre environment and is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development, and service growth.
Perioperative Services
Our Perioperative Services are situated in a state of the art and expanding facility with 24 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre, three endoscopy suites, and two Cardiac Cath Labs. As part of our growth, we are adding four additional cutting-edge operating theatres and an additional Cath lab commencing construction in July 2025 for completion early 2026.
Equipped with advanced technology, our department supports over 1800 operations each month. We focus on patient-centred care through our day-of-surgery admission points, three Post-Anaesthetic Care Units, and two discharge lounges and are committed to providing the highest standard of care in a collaborative and innovative environment.
How you will make an impact
As Nurse Manager of our Orthopaedic and Neuro Periop team you will:
* Oversee the daily functioning of the Ortho/Neuro theatres, ensuring smooth workflows, optimal resource allocation, and high standards of patient care.
* Foster strong, collaborative relationships with Visiting Medical Officers to support clinical excellence and service alignment.
* Lead initiatives to upskill and mentor scrub/scout nursing staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
* Drive strategic improvements and efficiencies across the service, identifying opportunities to expand capabilities and enhance patient outcomes.
* Review and implement systems and processes to improve theatre turnaround times, resource utilisation, and overall operational performance.
* Actively contribute to the broader perioperative leadership team, ensuring all Nurse Manager responsibilities are met, including workforce planning, compliance, and quality assurance
About You
* Current AHPRA registration (Registered Nurse)
* Victorian Working with Children Check
* Experienced in Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery as a scrub/scout with demonstrated strong leadership skills
* A vision and passion for team development and service expansion
* A commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care
* Ability to work within the Mission and Values of the organisation
* Flexibility and a positive attitude
* Attention to detail
* Excellent customer service focus and communication skills
* Enthusiasm for participation and leading in a team environment
