About the role Band 4 - base salary from $125,811 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience As a Field Engineer you will provide engineering services and solutions to the Operations Delivery group in the construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Tasmania's Transmission and Distribution electrical networks. Working within a dynamic and engaging team, you will work in areas of technical field support, continuous improvement, operational risk management and quality assurance. You will interface with the Asset Management, Network Operations and Project Management business units to co-ordinate and support implementation of initiatives and projects that impact Operations Delivery. Identifying and leading the implementation of technical improvements relating to safety, efficiency and execution capability is a key element of this role. The role on offer will focus on the Distribution Overhead area of Operations Delivery and will be working with field crew (primary customer), project managers, specialist contractors and other key stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Tasmania's Distribution Network. The Field Engineering team comprises of a diverse range of generalist engineering professionals who work across TasNetworks' whole asset base, which allows professional development in all areas of the network. About you You will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with sound knowledge of power system engineering principles and extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of high voltage plant and equipment. You will have demonstrated the ability to lead technical work and be able to mentor and supervise developing engineers. You will have experience in leading the implementation of engineering processes and technical work practices and be able to effectively support change in an operational environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to interpret and practically apply legislation, standards and industry guidelines in an operational environment, along with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work across multiple stakeholder groups.
