General Commercial Counsel Role
A leading educational institution is seeking a senior legal counsel to support its diverse range of legal matters, including intellectual property, copyright, privacy, employment, property, commercial law, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
This role will see you working on a mix of legal advisory work, policy development, and Freedom of Information (FOI) matters. You will be part of an established high-performing legal team and be responsible for providing legal services to optimise contractual and commercial arrangements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the whole institution across a broad range of legal matters
* Working on legal advisory work, policy development, and FOI matters
* Providing legal services to optimise contractual and commercial arrangements
* Undertaking legal research and developing and maintaining legal precedents and template documents
About the Candidate
The successful candidate will have a current Australian Practising Certificate and at least 10 years post-qualification experience, including experience gained in a reputable firm and/or in-house legal team.
Key skills and qualifications include:
