About the role
SA Pharmacy seeks enthusiastic Allied Health Assistants (AHA1 / AHA2) to support pharmacy services. Responsibilities include dispensing medications, stock control, inventory management, and possibly pharmaceutical manufacturing or packaging. Administrative tasks like reception and cashier duties for inpatient and outpatient services are also involved.
This developmental role classifies positions as AHA1 or AHA2 based on qualifications and experience. AHA1 is suitable for those starting in pharmacy support, with potential progression to AHA2 after completing a Certificate III or six months of employment. AHA2 involves additional responsibilities, including staff training and workload coordination. Both levels are part of a supportive team committed to patient care.
About You
You are motivated, reliable, and interested in pharmacy services. You should have:
A willingness to learn, with good communication, arithmetic, and organizational skills
Experience in hospital pharmacy, proficiency with pharmacy management software, and understanding of dispensing and manufacturing
Good manual dexterity, safe work practices, and accurate data entry skills
Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, PBS, and confidentiality and ethical practices
