A family-owned business in the southern suburbs of Brisbane is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to assist in stock control and administrative/clerical duties. This opportunity offers an attractive salary and an enjoyable team environment. Reporting to the Store Manager, your role will be to: Reconcile delivery dockets, ensuring this matches the stock being charged out; Check, sell and cost prices for goods, supplier invoices and freight charges; Ensure freight costs and customer invoices are within the margins set and investigate if not; Maintain the stock system to ensure stock is accounted for; Reconcile stock and accounts, as well as enter non-financial data into the system; Effectively implement any supplier price increases; Follow up on credits; Answer phones and work with customers; Source special orders and stock from other stores and suppliers; Provide assistance to Store Managers with any further duties as required; and Be up to date with supplier price changes. Your attentive approach will require you to maintain stock across 2000 product lines. On occasion, the opportunity to travel via the company vehicle to the northern suburbs branch may be required to assist with deliveries and collecting supplies. The role is suitable for a numbers-oriented individual who has an eye for detail. It will be advantageous if you have experience or exposure to the paint and protective coatings industry, but this is not essential. You will be provided with supportive, on the job training and work the hours of 7:30am until 4:00pm Monday to Friday.
