Remuneration: $38.51 - $59.38 per hour (dependent on qualifications) + superannuation + salary packaging

Location: Forster Community Health Service

Employment Type: Temporary Part Time – Until December 2026 (with the possibility of extension)

About The Role

Join the Counselling Team within the Children, Young People and Families Service in a rewarding temporary opportunity based at Forster Community Health. This role offers flexibility to work across the Lower Mid-North Coast, supporting the counselling needs of children, young people, and their families.

You'll collaborate closely with colleagues and a broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based assessment and interventionsDeliver person-centred care and therapeutic supportContribute to health promotion and education initiativesParticipate in multidisciplinary clinics within the serviceSee clients across a variety of settings, including:Community Health Client homesSchoolsCommunity locationsThis is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your community while working within a collaborative, supportive, and development-focused environment.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a compassionate and skilled professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families. You'll bring:

Experience or interest in child, youth, and family counsellingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice

Requirements

Social Workers - must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)Psychologists – must hold a four-year degree in psychology, being a three-year degree with a fourth-year honours in psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, and be registered (general) or eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via AHPRA.

Additional Information

To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
