Electrical Engineer Role at Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Electrical Engineer with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. We manage stations in Antarctica and Macquarie Island, each with independent energy systems including powerhouses, renewable energy sources, and building management systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and maintain electrical systems in remote environments, taking into account cold weather engineering challenges.
* Supervise electrical installations and testing, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with specialists, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Provide technical input on design and safety reviews, and deliver training for electrical systems.
* Investigate incidents and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
* Bachelor of engineering in Electrical Engineering from an Australian or equivalent overseas university.
* At least 7 years of industry experience.
* Chartered status (CPEng) is desirable.
