As a member of the IP Networks team, the role has a responsibility for the operation and maintenance of Telstra's IP Network in a 24x7 shift environment. This includes providing specialised technical support in the detection, investigation and rectification of more complex faults and routines associated with Telstra's IP Network platforms, (including RDN, TID, NextIP, IPMAN, EDN and Data Centre Networks).
**Please note this role requires you to work on a 24/7 roster**
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide specialised technical expertise in the investigation and rectification of more complex faults and routines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups such as Level-3/DevOps and Engineering to enable IP Networks to achieve its business objectives.
- Mentor team members to grow their technical and leadership capabilities within IP Networks team.
- Assist, develop and maintain technical and administrative IP Network process documentation as required.
- Positively influence team members and outcomes to deliver an excellent customer experience for every managed incident.
- Assist with KPI/OLA reporting analysis and provide input into post incident investigations as required.
- Display strong ownership and relentless drive of IP Network incidents through to resolution.
- Perform Jeopardy Management within IP Networks and with relevant stakeholders to ensure incident resolution within Service Level Agreements
**Enough about us, let's talk about you. To hit the ground running we are looking for individuals who can confidently demonstrate the following**:
- Ability to self-learn and develop others in existing and emerging technologies.
- At least 3 yrs of experience working in a Network Assurance environment or a similar role.
- Technical Diploma / Engineering or IT degree level qualifications or equivalent experience
- Experience with Networking monitoring tools
- A CCNA, ITILv3, JNCIA qualifications
- Solid and proven experience with assuring Cisco and Juniper network devices, including practical knowledge in Firewall (eg. Check Point, Palo Alto), F5, Radware, and other Appliance technologies.
- Ability to identify and develop strategies to resolve technical or process deficiencies.
- Demonstrated lateral thinking skills as well as a good analytical approach to problem solving.
- Good understanding of the ITIL Framework as applied to Incident Management.
- Excellent time management skills.
**Highly desirable**
- CCNP/CCIE/JNCIS
- Qualifications in Software development or any related field, or equivalent experience
