We’re searching for a passionate, skilled Lead Bistro Chef to take charge of our members-only bistro and deliver consistently high-quality, modern bistro fare. Located at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron on St Kilda Beach, this is a full-time, hands-on role with a stable Wednesday to Sunday roster. You’ll be leading day-to-day kitchen operations for our à la carte bistro service, separate from our private events which are managed by our Event Head Chef. What You’ll Be Doing Leading daily kitchen service for the bistro Executing a seasonal, flavour-driven menu Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen Upholding food safety and hygiene standards at all times Contributing to menu development and daily specials Mentoring and training junior cooks and kitchen hands What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Chef or Lead Cook in a bistro, café, or gastro pub Confident across all kitchen sections – grill, pans, larder Passion for seasonal produce and quality ingredients Calm under pressure and consistent during busy service Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail Team player with a positive attitude and leadership presence What You’ll Get Competitive salary: $68,000 – $75,000 (based on experience) Set roster: Wednesday to Sunday Free staff meal on shift Catering discounts Opportunity for growth within a respected hospitality group Work in a stunning beachside location with a strong member base Love bistro food and leading a great team?
