We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our Home and Community Care team in the Northam area of Western Australia on a casual basis.
Our Home and Community Care team provides community-based care programs that help our aged customers continue to live independently in their own homes.
We are known for person-centred care and best practice in quality care, working in a supportive environment that encourages initiative and leadership.
This role requires delivery of personal care to community clients, plus domestic assistance, transport and social support.
Experience with personal care (e.g., showering, dressing, toileting) is advantageous.
This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis with hours 7:30am–6pm, Monday to Friday.
Applicants must be available to cover sick leave and holidays; there is no weekend work required.
ResponsibilitiesPersonal care, including showering, dressing, continence careAssist customers with administration of correct medicationAssist customers with domestic duties, meal preparation and other household tasks to ensure safe and hygienic living conditions in their own homesSocial support, including transport to shops or appointmentsAdherence to Client Care Plan
QualificationsCurrent Australian driver's license and reliable car – essentialCertificate III Aged Care – desirableCurrent First Aid certification – desirablePrevious experience working in the Community – desirableUnderstand documentation and relevant aged care legislationUnderstand principles of Occupational Safety & Health and correct manual handlingVerbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, families and service providers in a manner which is effective and consistent
