Your role within Queensland Government Accommodation Office will support the department to sustainably manage a significant building and residential portfolio, including office accommodation, government employee residences, convention centres, heritage buildings, bridges, statues, and other property assets. Reporting to the Principal Project Manager, Property Group, the primary purpose of this role is to:
• Manage and deliver significant building and building services projects to improve built asset functionality, operational efficiency and extend asset life.
• Support departmental sustainability initiatives and Government emissions reduction targets. Undertake sustainability projects to improve asset sustainability ratings and performance and provide a healthy and productive environment for occupants.
What you will do:
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team in the areas of capital works projects, sustainability projects, building services upgrade projects, risk and maintenance management to support the department's commercial property portfolio.
• Deliver and assist with the delivery, of capital works projects on time and within budget to support the department's commercial property portfolio, extend asset life, improve functionality and support government agency service delivery.
• Deliver capital works projects to support government sustainability initiatives and emissions reduction targets through innovative solutions in accordance with established programs and strategies.
• Provide technical expertise and advice to multidisciplinary teams involved in strategic planning for the department's commercial property portfolio including risk mitigation strategies.
• Produce high level comprehensive reports to analyse, present and explain complex information in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Undertake detailed audit and assessments to investigate and report on significant and emergent issues for the portfolio.
• Data capture, analysis and reporting on electricity usage and emissions of the portfolio
• Prepare briefing notes, executive correspondence and project reports for management where required.
• Negotiate and represent QGAO at intra and inter-departmental meetings, and at external forums.

The skills you will need:
• Demonstrated experience in capital works delivery and project management.
• Demonstrated understanding of building sustainability initiatives, practises and procedures.
• Demonstrated data analysis skills and use of Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated time management skills in the delivery of multiple capital works projects.
• Demonstrated financial management skills and experience related to program, projects and contract management.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.
Mandatory Requirement
• Whilst not mandatory, qualifications in a related building or asset management discipline would be well regarded.
