Job Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Scientist to join our team. As a Scientist, you will be responsible for performing manual and automated diagnostic testing, assisting with stock control, maintaining current scientific knowledge, participating in quality assurance activities, contributing to continuous improvement, and participating in training staff.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for pathological diagnosis.
* Assist with stock control and compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols.
* Maintain all equipment and operate equipment in line with protocols.
* Participate in both routine and audit related quality assurance activities.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required.
* Participate in training staff and liaise with internal and/or external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals as necessary.


Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
* LCMS experience required, LCMS troubleshooting experience ideal.
* Immunoassay experience ideal, ICPMS experience ideal.
* Experience/understanding of ISO 15189, AS/NZS 4308:2023 urine drug testing standard and AS4760:2019 oral fluid drug testing standard.
* Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline.
* Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting.
* Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.
* Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision.
* An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence.

* A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member.
* Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
