The role of Student Support in education institutions is very crucial to ensure the smooth delivery of services to students. It involves helping students to effectively navigate through out their academic journey by providing guidance on a variety of students services and to ensure that their needs align with institutional polices and regulations. As a Student Support Officer, it will be your responsibility to support students by offering helpful advice and guidance on academic matters, enrolment processes, enquiry handling, and helping students deals with challenges that they may face during their academic journey.

Roles and Responsibilities

Student Guidance and Support

* Provide academic and administrative support to the students via online telecommunication and/or email.
* Contact relevant parties to support the students.
* Offer guidance on personal development and well-being, ensuring students have access to necessary resources.

Administrative Support

* Maintain the record of students efficiently.
* Support the enrolment and re-enrolment process.
* Ensure compliance with the Australian Vocational Educational and Training (VET) standards.

Communication and Engagement

* Student Support Officer is the Point of Contact for the students and response to students' queries on time and with the utmost professionalism.
* They Enhance communication between the students and the staff to make sure that all concerns are properly dealt with.

Attributes and Qualifications

* Education: Bachelor's degree or higher.
* Experience and background: Experience in student services, customer services or administrative.
* Basic know how: Knowledge of student support services and common challenges students face.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and communication skills are necessary.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to work in collaboration with a team to deliver effective student support services.
* Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving needs of students and institutions demonstrating flexibility.
* Ability to Work Under Pressure: Should be able to manage competing priorities while maintaining composure in high pressure situations.
