The National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER) helps promote better understanding and discussion within the vocational education and training (VET) sector, and assists policymakers, practitioners, industry, training providers, and students to make informed decisions.

About the role

NCVER is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified individual to lead our newly formed Engagement & Experience Branch. As our Engagement and Experience Manager, you'll be the bridge between NCVER's products and its users, ensuring that every touchpoint—whether through data insights, research delivery, or communications is intuitive, impactful, and aligned with stakeholder needs. Your leadership will help cultivate deep engagement, amplify NCVER's impact across multiple audience segments, and inspire customer-centric innovation across all branches.

The Engagement and Experience Manager will lead with strategic vision and project management excellence to deliver targeted communications, seamless stakeholder experiences, and data-informed engagement strategies. This role drives innovation in visual and web-based communication tools, amplifies customer voice in shaping organisational direction, and fosters a decentralised capability model for stakeholder engagement—ensuring customer needs are embedded in every stage of product and service delivery.

About you

The successful candidate will require the following skills and experience:

Demonstrated experience in being the 'voice of the customer' across an organisation, leading, influencing and supporting staff at all levels to understand and address client needs, preferably in an IT or data-oriented context.

Extensive experience developing and implementing high-quality, targeted, coordinated communications and stakeholder engagement plans, informed by market research and user feedback, that focus on informing and influencing key stakeholders, as well as supporting product delivery.

Demonstrated excellence in leading small teams to deliver quality products against tight deadlines.

Exceptional capabilities to identify, form and maintain stakeholder and internal organisation relationships with technical professionals, and represent the organisation to governments and industry as needed.

Ongoing full-time position, based in Adelaide or located in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra will be considered with regular travel to Adelaide.

Gifted leave over Christmas shut down.

Hybrid working from office/home arrangement.

A generous salary package commensurate with skills and expertise (including 12% superannuation) will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
