As a Principal Lawyer in our Competition and Consumer Law Unit, you will be working on complex matters related to competition law enforcement. Your role will involve conducting legal research, assisting with investigations, managing court proceedings, and providing legal input for ACCC determinations and publications.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Legal Research: You will conduct thorough legal research into complex matters related to competition law enforcement, ensuring that you stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and case law.
* Assist with Investigations: As part of your role, you will assist with the conduct of investigations, working closely with other teams to gather evidence and build cases against individuals or organizations who have breached competition laws.
* Manage Court Proceedings: You will manage court proceedings involving the ACCC, representing the agency in court and providing expert advice on competition law matters.
* Provide Legal Input: Your expertise will be sought by the ACCC to provide legal input on competition law matters, including developing policy and guidelines.
About You
* Admission to the Bar: You must be admitted as a practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, or have the ability to become so admitted before commencing in this role.
* Substantial Experience: You should have substantial legal experience at a senior level, preferably in areas related to competition law enforcement.
* Leadership Skills: As a Principal Lawyer, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, guiding and mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the development of the team.
