Job Description
ACCIONA Agua is a global leader in sustainable water infrastructure, delivering innovative solutions for the design, construction, operation, and management of water projects worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with strong expertise in Mechanical/Electrical disciplines to join our team and play a key role in delivering major electro-mechanical desalination projects across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop accurate cost estimates and coordinate proposals for large-scale desalination projects.
* Perform detailed quantity take-offs and ensure precise cost forecasting.
* Manage multiple bids and act as the primary liaison between the estimating team and senior leadership.
* Evaluate and refine estimates based on project requirements and client feedback.
* Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to gather pricing for labor, materials, and other project costs.
* Participate in pre- and post-bid meetings and ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards.
* Maintain historical cost data and track estimations using internal systems.
* Mentor and provide leadership to junior estimators.
Planning & Quality Control
* Develop and maintain company-wide estimating standards and best practices.
* Ensure estimating tools and methodologies align with industry standards.
* Collaborate with quality management to uphold compliance and high-quality processes.
Required Skills and Competencies
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in estimating for major water infrastructure projects, ideally in desalination.
* Proven ability to deliver accurate cost estimates for large-scale projects (treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations).
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and cost estimation systems.
* Proficiency in estimating software and MS Word, Excel, and Access.
* Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
