Financial operations manager

A key leadership position is available for a hands-on finance professional to oversee the day-to-day finance operations and drive improvements in financial reporting, compliance, and controls.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing multiple entities, leading small teams, and driving process improvements. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing commercial insights to inform business decisions.

* Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver monthly and annual financial reports across group entities;
* Lead management reporting processes and asset reporting across operating entities;
* Formalise and embed group-wide reporting frameworks;
* Oversee compliance obligations including BAS, payroll tax, FBT, TPAR, ABS surveys, and audit processes;
* Manage group payroll operations, including review of superannuation, deductions, and industry-specific reporting;
* Coordinate insurance renewals, IT oversight, and internal control reviews;
* Provide commercial support on project feasibilities, supply contracts, and operational performance;
* Maintain external relationships (banks, insurers, legal/accounting firms) and serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders across the business.

About the Role

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a strong technical foundation in accounting, reporting, and compliance, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and contribute to the development of the business.

What We're Looking For

* CA / CPA qualified with a strong technical foundation in accounting, reporting, and compliance;
* Demonstrated experience in a privately owned, multi-entity business;
* Proven ability to lead a small team and drive process improvement;
* Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to liaise with operational leaders and the Board;
* A hands-on, solutions-focused leader who enjoys being close to the detail while influencing big-picture decisions.
