Defence Procurement and Contracting Professional
Are you a seasoned commercial and procurement expert with in-depth knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and ASDEFCON? We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager Lead to support mission-critical programs within the Australian Department of Defence.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most complex projects in the Defence landscape. As a Commercial Manager Lead, you will be responsible for developing and submitting procurement documentation, drafting contract variations, and conducting contract management activities.
The successful candidate will have:
* Advanced practitioner experience in Defence commercial services
* Proven stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills across complex environments
* Experience in contract lifecycle management and performance evaluation frameworks
* Familiarity with tools such as Predict, SAP, Objective, and Defence enterprise systems

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and submit procurement documentation, including approval packs, sourcing strategies, and tender evaluation plans.
2. Draft contract variations, service requests, and risk assessments in accordance with ASDEFCON and CASG policy.
3. Conduct contract management activities, including baselining, minute taking, invoice checking, and deliverables review.
4. Provide commercial advice to stakeholders across multiple functions, including legal, finance, engineering, and ILS.
5. Monitor and report on supplier compliance with performance frameworks, AIC, WHS, and capability development metrics.
6. Train and mentor internal stakeholders to build commercial acumen within the SPO.
7. Manage documentation in line with PGPA Act, CPRs, and Defence probity requirements.
8. Provide a single point of contact for all commercial queries from procurement to execution phase.
