Support Worker for Individuals with Complex Needs
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Support Workers, providing in-home support for clients/NDIS participants living with complex mental and other health issues.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with people with disability who have support needs, particularly with mental health issues. Previous experience working with individuals with complex needs, medication assistance, and administration would be highly beneficial.
The role involves supporting male and female NDIS participants to increase their independence, engage in community-based activities, and model appropriate social behaviours as necessary.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a supportive and caring nature, and a commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with NDIS participants with a range of mental disabilities
* Support and mentor participants to increase their independence
* Support participants to engage in community-based activities
* Model and encourage appropriate social behaviours as necessary
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Individual Support (Disability) Certificate III or higher
* Experience working with people with disability who have support needs, particularly with mental health issues
* Previous skills and qualifications in medication assistance and/or administration
* CPR & First Aid Certificate
* Current Open Drivers Licence
* Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card
