General Practice is a core discipline within the Griffith University's Doctor of Medicine program.
The Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, play a major role in scholarship research and/or professional activities, and deliver independent and original research with significant impact on the field of expertise.
This part-time (0.5 FTE / 50%) continuing position is based at Griffith University Gold Coast, with possible responsibilities across other campus locations.
Role Overview
The position is part of an academic team that oversees the learning and assessment of medical students and contributes to curriculum development, delivery and assessment within the Doctor of Medicine program, which encompasses general practice and primary health care.
It complements the assurance that students acquire the understanding and skills related to general practice and primary health care required of an Australian medical graduate.
Salary
Full-time equivalent base salary (Academic Senior Lecturer Level C):
$138,702 – $159,936 per annum (17% superannuation).
The total FTE package will be $162,281 – $187,125 per annum.
Qualifications
Medical degree and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (or comparable accreditation).
Eligibility for registration as a specialist general practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Substantial clinical experience in general practice with commitment to ongoing professional development.
Experience in medical education, including teaching and curriculum development.
Highly developed communication and teamwork skills with the ability to achieve work targets through collaboration.
