About the Mental Health Division Austin Health's Mental Health Division (MHD) provides care and services through a comprehensive range of teams to meet the needs of mental health consumers and carers throughout Victoria.

About the role The Mental Health Division has a long tradition of providing our Registrars with exceptional support during their RANZCP Psychotherapy Written Case requirements.
In addition, there is an opportunity to drive Psychotherapy education in the Division, particularly for the medical team.
This is a senior Medical Position and carries with it the professional responsibilities of clinical leadership, teaching and training as well as administrative requirements.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will ensure that services provided by mental health services are the highest standard, emphasising excellence, service, care, staff performance, cost efficiency, research and education within a comprehensive clinical governance framework.
About you The Consultant would have training and experience in the provision of a particular style of dynamic psychotherapy, be confident in your understanding of the requirements of the RANZCP Psychotherapy Written Case requirements, as well as have a passion for supervision, education and training.
To be considered for the role, you must:
Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent post graduate specialist qualification.Be an elligible supervisor for the Psychotherapy Written Case, as per RANZCP guidelines.Have evidence of recency of practice with psychodynamic psychotherapy, including ongoing professional development.Experience in a variety of psychiatric settingsHave a detailed knowledge of tertiary mental health services.Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
