Aboriginal Sexual Assault Support Specialist
Culturally sensitive support is essential when working with Aboriginal survivors of sexual assault. In this role, you will provide specialist one-on-one counselling, advocacy and community engagement to make a real difference in your community.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Provide trauma-informed support to Aboriginal survivors of sexual assault through individual and group counselling sessions.
 * Work closely with the Aboriginal community, responding to crises and providing specialist support and advocacy.
 * Engage in leadership and consultation roles, connecting services supporting Aboriginal children and families.
 * Participate in community events, building relationships with local and national Aboriginal communities.
Requirements:
 * Possesses a bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent qualification that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
 * Has strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with partner agencies.
 * Brings a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultural perspectives and the ability to embed this into practice.
